1968 Coronet 500 Project

Looking great Jim! You should be very proud of all that work you got done!

Finally changed out the 1982 asbestos front brake shoes and repacked the bearings. Also fixed a leak in the rear brake lines that I never could find. I love my new Forward Lift!

We embark on a 500 mile round trip to a weekend and a show in the mountains in the morning. Coronet, Duster, Dart, 66 Hemi Satellite and a CRV heading out at 5:30 am! Wish us good fortune!

Looking really good. Think most guy's get to the point on the restore process and give up. It takes a special person to stick with it. When finished you can look back at all the pic's and say what a job. It is a part of history you are restoring. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress. Good job.

Yup! I agree with blue69runner. I’ve been lurking on the SPI forum and following your build. It’s going to be another nice one!

The Coronet LF drum was dragging all the way back from our early summer trip. I have NOS drums and shoes located from a member here but he was doing the show circuit and can’t get them out till next week. We have a big show next weekend so I bought a cheap drum and a swedge cutter. After getting the original drum off and taking the new drum to get turned (have not found a round Chinese drum yet) we are back in business.

Boy, I didn't think about checking my new rear drums for roundness. I better take them to O'Reilly's before I bleed the brakes and drive.

Really. I spent the day cleaning and waxing for a big show next week and the brake booster takes a crap backing out of the garage…….

Probably better than going out when pulling it into the garage. I'm sure Mamma doesn't want any cars in the kitchen...

Two holes in my diaphragm.... damn... Wonder if Booster Steve can get me something fast enough for the show on Saturday.....
