1968 GTX Trunk Panel Restoration

That's a pain to fix. Lots of drilling and filling.

I bought the decal package and stripped the argent off and replaced it with satin black kinda to match the front grille. Chrome wasn't to bad so I thought I'd run like this for a while.

She passed away a few months ago. Not sure if her business is still operating.

I had my rear panel re-chromed by Keystone and then someone re-popped them, so I bought
a new one and sold my re-chromed one to Mario. $850.00 for a new one at the time.

I bought Baby Blue in 1983 because the car had an NOS trunk panel and tail light bezels. Guy who used to own my current GTX was selling restored trunk panels for $1800 two decades ago. My car has one, and it’s perfect, actually better than the 5000 mile OEM that it replaced. Exhaust vapors destroyed the originals in a couple years. If you want a nice one it will cost a first born, and you will spend more time cleaning it than driving the car, if you want to keep it perfect.
