I've made a ton of mistakes, the biggest being that I really wanted a '69. Ended up with a 68 that was much rougher than it was supposed to be, yada yada you've heard it all before :) I'm on the homestretch now, starting to look forward to it more than ever. The only thing that will be non proper on the car will be the '68 GTX grille with no emblem that will be finishing the car off when I get that far, the '68 RR grille is the most hideous think I have ever seen (my opinion of course), but I will keep mine if/when the car finds a new owner after me.

I was going to go with Weld style 5 star type wheels, but saw a RR on ebay with black steel rims and poverty caps, and I kinda like it. So, picked up some nice steel rims and "plymouth division" poverty caps, so teh decision is now made.

Going with Tor Red/Hemi Orange. Pic was taken with cell phone, so looks rather red with little orange in the pic.

Anyway, here is the car from the way I bought it to how it looks now. The guy I bought it from had some peach sherbert paint, no joke. Only needed quarters, everything else was solid. Car is now jammed and engine bay is done.

Welcome! looks good so far.I like the 69' better too but my dad perfers the 68'... I think because he was born in 68' lol. So whats going in under the hood?

440. Its a mild engine, It is way over cammed, but I liked the way it sounded, so I may just have to try and match the intake and heads enough so I dont suffer too much. The engine was thrown into the car when it was the peach wreck in the first picture. The guy didnt even change the water pump, so he had to use a rad from a '78 that was literally bailing wired in.

I would love to write a book on all of the funny, whacky stuff that was done to this car on the butchered first resto attempt by the previos owner, but I would assume that book has already been written by most members here? :) And more books on what the car was advertised as, and what was found when it was dug into deeper. When my buddy showed me the steel wool & 70's wood grain paneling that was used to fix the quarters when he cut mine off, I was speechless. I guess AMD and Goodmark didnt have skins avaialble back then (I assume it was attemped in the 80's).... :)
