1968 Satellite Convertible - Jezebel

I had a 68 Roadrunner that was that color. I loved it. Great job you're doing.

Nice 68 vert!

The car is looking great! Your body shop friend looks like he does a good job. Braced up the convertible like it needed for panel replacement work. I have a 68 RR that's originally GG1 in color and I think the dark green metallic look good on these cars. Nice car!

I love the color, my second car was a 68 Sport Satellite my parent bought new, it was Dark Green & white vinyl top & interior, very classy look... Your doing a great job...

Looking good, I agree w/ your call to undercoat the bottom side and wheelwells. Too many people over do their cars then are afraid to drive them. Make it a nice, safe, comfortable driver and you will do just that, DRIVE IT!

It's been busy - bought a new house with a garage!!! i haven't had tons of time to work on this, but i am gettting a little done here and there. I had the engine put it and had to basically take the whole trans crossmember out to sort out an alignment issue. I have the tank installed, the lines run, i bought ss fuel and brake lines from the right stuff, fit was fine. finished installing calipers, got some rocker arms and have been sorting out the wiring. i'll add pics but here is the engine compartment:

Cool ride, and nice work so far on bringing this one back from the dead!

Nice work

Great to see this one come back to life, thanks for posting these pix of the progress. best wishes CD:headbang:

more pics: mainly redoing all the wiring harnesses, also mocking up the VR, ECM

working on tank plumbing - haven't tightened up straps yet, i'm possibly going to run FI so i want to have room to run the return line (if needed)

Just throwing this out there, but if you want to highlight the "Mopar Performance" and the ridges on your valve covers, you can use a DA with some 180/240 on the top surfaces. If it looks like something you might like, be sure to tape the ends to protect the black before you start.

thanks, i was trying to figure out the best way to do that. I'm not sure if i like the paint i used, it is semi-gloss rustoleum and it looks/feels cheap. Someone suggested i paint anything black in the engine compartment "rally black," so i might be repainting them.

some updates:

I've been fighting with my WP pulley and basically ended up shimming it out. i went ahead and bought some aftermarket brackets, rebuilt my PS pump, upgraded to a 100A alternator and have been trying to clean up wiring.

found the proper driveshaft at carlisle despite the 103 deg heat, slowly getting small stuff together - wiper linkage, brake booster (was missing a bushing), re-wired my bulk head connector,

my biggest splurge was the FI, and my latest endeavor is to plumb for it. I have been trying to decide the best way between running the return line, adding a regulator, mounting the pump. I may end up going to returnless but that is one more thing to mount in the engine compartment (whcih i am trying to keep clean).

Really coming along nicely, I would take the time to run the return line, it will behave much better in the heat.

Thanks,

Actually the returnless kit has a "fuel on demand," which uses pulse width modulation??? i guess it adjusts voltage to the fuel pump to keep a preset pressure which means the pump isn't running full blast all of the time. It should reduce the heat buildup, too. The pump is a turbine pump, which supposedly runs better, doesn't "cog" with the PWM setup.

i really can't find anywhere to run the return line as much as i'd like to.

Looking awesome....I think that it's great you're sticking with the small block. Keep up the good work!
