Put a stereo in my 68 satellite. The problem is that when the motor is running I can hear a buzzing and seems to give a slight crackling when the motor is running(Sounds like when the coil is firing since it buzzes at engine speed)

Its got an electric distributor in the 318.

I saw there seems to be some sort of a cap or a condenser between the positive of the coil and the other spaded end is grounded to the block.

Is there a simple fix for this? I sure hope so.

Thanks in advance to any of you who have suggestions.

It is a bit more likely that it is alternator noise; that will buzz. The suggestions for grounding and noise filters are the pace to start.
