1969 air grabber base colour?

Looking to purchase a air grabber base and cover off cl.
Was told it's OEM and in storage for 20 years or so.
Have only seen one bad pic so far. Also told it is for 383.
In pic base is a silver colour, is this correct? I have only seen
black colored base plates. Any help would be great.

I have 2 69 RR N96s they are both black.

you do know that these are repopped & are pretty nice,if you don't feel like dealing with cl idiots or buying it sight unseen as looking by the pic it looks to been screwed with

I heard the repo were of poor quality, but I have not seen them to confirm that. What looks wrong with it?

Someone rattle canned it silver early in its life. No big deal, just blast it and paint it lo gloss black.

theres nothing wrong with it other than the base needs painted black but if it's clean & solid & your getting it cheap enough i'd go for it!
i've had a couple repops & theres nothing wrong with them for a nice driver / show car & definatley better than the fiber glass crap.
there has been a lot of issues with the repop air grabber boxes
