1969 charger build

A 1000 bucks to throw some sparks :eek:

Yeah but I am saving money on other stuff no more chry ignition system and don't need the stock harness. Witch I don't have
Performance jump too.
Figure stick parts with harness would be about $500 so I say well worth it

Well slow start here was ready to bang out this metal work found I don't have all metal that was needed . Ordered it first few orders canceled out of stock they said .

So now I'm back ordered threw amd so can't really touch anything till I get these parts .
So I jumped on motor build and other needed parts like the wilwood setup and rest of trans parts and wheels .
So parts are showing up left and right
I swapped my 72 b body trans for a correct 69 b body trans I know not a huge deal but it helped my buddy out of a bind he didn't have the duel pad trans in stock for a customer he built mine it was sitting on shelf . So he offered a newly rebuilt unit in trade so what ever didn't really need it yet anyways .
So the 4 speed is being built
I still need to decide on a rear .
I ordered the 6 piston wilwoods up front and large 4 out back (back ordered )
I ordered the 18" rims I liked (they clear the big brakes)there here
I ordered up some eng parts as listed above also some others not listed
Most are here carb is back ordered for 3 months .
I stripped the 76 440 down to verify bore it is a virgin block as I was told !!!!
So I'm dropping it off tomorrow to get dipped and checked probably get a 30 over on it as one cly bore had rust on walls
After I get thumbs up I'm ordering the 440 source lower end kit to put motor at 10.1 compression with my 84cc alm heads .
Then it's waiting game on those parts

Then I'll be back to odd jobs to re fluff my car fund got a bmw here now getting aftermarket brakes and susp
And a mid 80's Camaro getting a trans swap lined up after that.

Well block is at machine shop .... So any one wanna guess the turn around on it
Virgin block getting cleaned checked and bored .30 over
Cost $450-500 and 2 months !!!!!

Man everyone is getting hammered guy apologized for cost and time .said everything is expensive now and he can't get any helpers in there !
Last block I did was my 340 $250 same job and 2 weeks
Before that was another 440 at $130 and come back in a day or two .
I miss the org guy who started shop he was great if it was Mopar it got a discount right off the top . He is a Mopar guy . He retired a few years back this is his son in-law now .
But I was told the old man still demands to come in for mopars !!!!
The kids good he's done a ton of head work for me over the years .
So I'm waiting on the thumbs up about the bore so I can order my lower end kit . Hopefully 440 source isn't a back order deal like most

I haven't seen Bb70charger500 on this site all year. Anyone know what happened?

I have always liked the bright, in-your-face colors of 1970-1971. However, this is a 1969 Charger and since those colors were offered after 1969 some would say that it just doesn't look right. And depending on the car and set up, I might agree.
I never used to like the earth tone colors of the era but lately they have been growing on me. They add to the nostalgia. Both of my ' 69 Chargers were original earth tones, one Bronze Metallic, the other Forest Green Metallic.
Bottom line - it's your car, build it for you, not for anyone else. it's your car, it's your choice. Best of luck on your decision.
