1969 Charger R/T resurrection

A very knowledgeable Mopar buddy of mine stopped over a couple of months ago to check out the car, and thought everything looked great except the skid plate I had welded on the k-frame. He thought it looked quite cheezy. This was part of the kit I bought from Firm Feel. I didn't know any better at the time as to what they were supposed to look like, so just put it on. Come to find out he has them made and gave me one for the car. The picture shows the one from Firm Feel, a 69 model, and a 70. I debated for the last 2 months on whether I should grind, weld, and paint on the nice new car. I finally decided to tear the old one off and got the new one installed and painted tonight. Now he can quit bothering me about this little flaw I had lol.

So are there better brands out there that would look more like what your buddy gave you?

I guess I'm not sure about that Don, but I would think somebody makes them. He told me these are just like the factory setup, and I didn't look into it any further.

The new matte black rump stripe showed up from Performance Car Graphics. Black. black, and more black everywhere I look lol.

And my alternator finally got done today. This is the last part of the electrical puzzle for me (I hope). I am keeping all the wiring stock, but every piece of wire and connectors are new and I haven't added anything extra to draw more juice. So I think the 42 amps it puts out should be fine.

Sure do love the black on black that you and Prop did, it looks way better than any other combo I've seen on black.

X2 on that H2E . . . you're car is really coming together - it's going to be a knock-out ! ! !

I love black...more black the better...sinister...mean...bada$$...oops sorry I got caught in the moment. JUST FLAT OUT AWESOME H2E.:beavisnbutthead:

Ah that stripe is gonna look mean!! Can't wait til I'm at the point you are in the project, and hope mine looks even half as gorgeous as yours :icon_thumleft: That alternator looks great too

Lookin good hunt. You had your alternator restored? Was it the original one from the car or maybe I should say the one that came with the car ?

I had an original style like would have come on the car restored. I picked it up at a swap meet last year.

Some day we all are going to have to see your car in person. It is beautiful. Great job.

The rebuilt alt. has found its home. I also managed to get the plugs wires routed and cut to length. I think I am to the point of hanging the fenders and hood :hello2:. It's really going to be strange walking into a garage and looking at an actual car instead of 1000 pieces.

Once again it looks sweet...mine should be driveable again in may...just to give you a heads up road trip to see this beauty. And yes I will have my camera. If I ever get a charger in the stable I hope it can turn out as good as yours. I absolutely love it!!!!

That stripe looks awesome there. Get your car done and it would be great to see yours and Will's car side by side.

Yeah, that would be neat.

Looks excellent! Gonna be too nice to drive.

Funny you should say that, because the kid who did the bodywork stopped over yesterday to check things out and said the same thing. Don't fret boys, the lower quarters will be covered in rubber this summer :3gears:.
