1969 Coronet - Ol' Drippy

Your engine looks killer there Drippy!! You will like that Accel Super Stock, i have one on my 73 and it made a huge difference in the way it starts and runs.... looking good man :)

Not had time to do much with the car the last week. I managed to install the bucket seats. I hope this weekend to replace the fuel lines from tank to pump and put in a new sending unit if it comes in today.

I got to find a roll cage I can start installing so I can add a seat belt harness setup. Also got to find a video on tuning the holley carb and setting the timing for this car. Im ready to do a burn out :)

Looking good with all your upgrades and mods, I love it, reminds me of mine a year or so ago.

So, a 295 tire on an 8" rim? How close to the outside fender well are you? Does it rub? What kind of leafs, shocks, etc?

I am asking because I was thinking of going wider but I am afraid of rubbing issues.

Nice build you have going there, keep up the good work sir!

That is correct. The shocks I replaced with Gabriel Gas Shocks

http://www.autozone.com/suspension-...m/1965/8-cylinders-6-3l-2bl/359935_6880_1366/

These shocks are just to get me by while I decided on which route to go with my car. The leaf springs I am not sure on, they were on the car when I got it and appear to be alot like factory.

The Tires fit well for me and I have a little bit of space left. Tonight if i remember I will get some pictures of my rear fender wells and space.

These are the wheels 15" X 8" /4 " backspace -13mm offset (DOT approved)
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bsw-d58df4

Tires are 295/50-15 COOPER COBRA Back and 235/60-15 COOPER COBRA Front

I almost forgot. If you get these wheels you will need to get the correct Lugs. Regular Lugs will not work, you will need Conical seat - 45 degree lugs.
I believe these are the lugs I got http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aa...4102/overview/ . I picked them up locally from a race shop but was Allstar brand.

Thank you for the information, I commanded wheel rims and tires they is put on the car no concern nothing does not touch

Thank you again :icon_salut:

Great looking project! And you're really moving along fast. Take your time on the wire harness under the dash, get the wire runs clean and bundled/wrapped, the way you want them. You can always trim/cut/adjust your wire runs elsewhere but fixing the under the dash stuff is a pain after the fact.

good luck

Thank you for the kind words.

You are exactly correct about the wiring. This entire project has been a learning experience because I am new to this. I learned the hard way on wiring. The engine bay and rear of car is fine but the dash will need to pull my dash back apart and go at it again.

I have had a really interesting weekend last week. I got stung by a wasp which apparently I am allergic to, while moving some tree limbs and got a plant on me which I am allergic to, I started breaking out so I took some liquid gel benadryl (and it has an ingredient I am allergic to that I did not know). So I went and started working on my fuel sending unit and relized something was not right my hands would not move when I wanted them too. So got up took a shower then started to stop breathing, I luckly had a friend take me to the ER and survived lol. Getting hit by 3 allergic reactions at one time was not fun.

My phone finally died it fell out of my truck and burst. I picked up a Lumia 640XL and has a pretty cool camera. I took a few pictures and posted my links here, was wondering what you guys though of the quality.

Thanks for the links, i love that engine sitting in there!!! Large part of a build, speaking in terms of our wallets to have what we want!! Enjoy!!!

I have not had the time to do too much. I am working on getting the new hood fitted and pinned.

Hood Fitment.jpg

I created a panel for my indicator lights, head light switch, hazard switch, wiper switch, and wiper washer switch.

My car has the 2 speed wiper option. My wiring kit was not really built for this so I can get the wiper to run at max no problem. Not sure which wire combination makes for the slow speed.
I may end up not worrying with the slow speed any just have the full speed.

love the look of those hoods for some reason.....

Did you buy the MSD Ready to Run distributor. That's the one I bought for my six pack and it runs beautifully. What kind of mini are you looking at? Is it compatible with your headers....?

The mini starter I am using is a Denso starter I picked up on ebay. It is from a company out of Tennessee and has a 1 year warranty. I am using Doug headers and it fits with clearance. Of course the starter must be put in as you put in the headers.

The Distributor I ordered is a PerTronix Flame-Thrower Electronic Distributor Billet.

That six pack hoods going to make this babe look like hell on wheels.

Congratulations Young99! The 69 coronet I just bought is a twin to yours...colors, rust condition and even the leaking 737 transmission pan! Just finished the welding in of the sub frame connectors and going to start on the POR15 underneath, inside floor and trunk. This is all prep for the paint guru to make it look shiney. Love those pictures and am astounded at all you have done in a short time! I will be attacking the wiring at some point but scared to death of that aspect...was it that difficult? As you can see by my cars stance, the sagging rear is from towing a trailer and over-stressing the leaf springs. Haven't dug into the fix for that yet but will. Please keep posting your updates and the visual aspect helps motivate the rest of us. Good luck, you have a tremendous jump with your energy! Great looking car, can't wait to see the finished product.00G0G_75S823VHXnT_600x450[1].jpg

That looks like an excellent car you have there Mocajava. As far as wiring the car for me it is a very long process. I wanted to use autometer gauges and different switches and indicator lights. It took me longer to sort all that out. Wiring the engine bay and rear of the car was pretty easy just tedious. I used an Autowire harness which was not made for Mopars but between its directions and the original 69 wiring diagram it was manageable.

I will mention this, I spoke with Autowire during my wiring process. They told me toward the end of this year they will have a B Body Wiring harness available.

Which day did God say let there no longer be automatic transmissions? :pWP_20150726_12_15_48_Pro.jpg

Finally got the transmission our after some help from the driveline forum. I am again in unchartered waters. Just learning as I go.

Spectre Performance has supplied me with an excellent air cleaner setup. I am going to work on building a breather/intake box for the a12 hood. I want it to be fully functional and block out as much engine heat from the intake as possible.

WP_20150728_17_55_43_Pro 1.jpg

I have tapped in the pilot bearing, test mounted the flywheel and bell housing. I am testing to make sure the starter will fit. It fit the 727 with very little issues. This bell housing is a 11" so it is a little bigger. I may need to make a minor dimple to one of the headers. I have sent the starter off to have the nose cone reinforced. I noticed a small crack and did not want to have to deal with it possibly breaking.

I am also looking to move my battery to the trunk so will begin finding battery cable that I can get cut by the foot. I will be going with an Optima Battery 9004-003 model 34/78.

Well this weekend I decided to work on the air intake for the new hood. You guys probably know this but if you want a good way to locate or measure hood clearances use play-doh and a little dab of grease. This was my first attempt at this, the fitment seems pretty decent. I have to do a bit more work flattening the metal more and making sure all gaps are sealed and sturdy.

Sorry 2 of my pics are sideways not sure why the forum is flipping them over.
