Hello everyone, I want to put this car up for sale but have no idea what I should ask for it. I know some of you hate the 'what's it worth' posts. If this is you please enjoy the pictures and move along. I am asking here because I honestly don't know what this is worth. I am not trying to get a million dollars for it just a reasonable price. Yes, I know there is a 'for sale' forum, and I will put it there, but I need to know what price to put on this car first. Looking for advice from the B-body experts before I post it there.

The car has rebuilt 440 non-matching numbers engine with less than 100 hours on it.
Transmission has all-new seals
Rebuilt differential with brand new Moser 3rd member 3:73 gears Sure-Grip
New drive line
Does not leak oil
All new brakes (drum)
New fuel tank
Powder-coated steel wheels. 15 x 6.5 in front and 15 x 7 in rear with brand new 225/70/15 BF Goodrich radial T/A tires
Factory 8-track
Factory rear defrost
New exhaust system
It's a mechanically solid car but does need some bodywork, as you can see. Nice and ratty for those who like this look.
All new floor pans, but the trunk area needs some work
Car is currently located in Las Vegas, NV area
This car drives great and is very fast.
Clean title
In the morning, when idling, the low rumble is enough to annoy your neighbors.
The original color is T5 bronze with a tan top, tan interior, and black stripe for those who can't read the Fender tag. The original owner worked at the St. Louis plant and bought the car off the line. He intentionally left off the rear stripe.
My daughter just started Physical Therapy school, and for some reason, it isn't free, so that is the only reason I will be selling.

Feel free to ask any questions.

A great driver that I think you should keep! Student Loans are being forgiven all the time; I wish I had not paid for my daughter's college.

Anyhow, I think you should ask around 24 for the car and negotiate. Here is the Hagerty valuation numbers:

$10k is my guess
Running and driving.... a truly collectible car. Certainly he would do better than that???
We never get follow up on these kind of posts. But I think the post claiming $24k for fair shape is more realistic.....we arent talking about a `66-7 belvy or coronet here.

I'll agree with the $20-24k estimate. Looks like a really cool and solid rat rod as it sits. 10k is what rusted rollers bring.

I'm not at 24K, but I'm not at 10K either. The amount of parts pieces and labor required to make this a nice and correct driver puts you well above the #3 valuation. I'm in the 16K-18K range. None of us put value on our personal labor, but this car needs exterior trim, complete interior restoration, possible trunk pan and other body work, along with paint. If it had a matching drivetrain, the numbers would change dramatically. Being a 68-70 B body helps, but doesn't impress me as I'm a fan of all the earlier B bodies, 62-67.

I'm viewing it like Jerry. I've found the Hagerty values to be fairly accurate when selling numbers matching cars. However, at that price point, the first question out of a potential buyer's mouth is whether the originality of the drive line can be verified. I've had others say the numbers didn't matter, and then make an offer way under book value.

I like to think that they are worth $50K minus what they need. $10-20 K would make that car a fun, attractive driver, depending on how much you do yourself.

If there's rust in the trunk, that most likely means that the dutchman panel needs replacing too.

I'd say that this car is below "#4 fair condition", but no matter what someone pays for it, they will end up having far more money into it than its worth to bring it up to #2 or #3 condition. The bodywork and a paint job alone is going to be at least 20-25 grand.

I'm revising my guess down a little. Didn't zoom in to see the trunk is rusted thru. Which means the rear rails are probably pretty crunchy too. Still should fetch $15-20k.
And, yes, anybody buying this car to restore will lose their ***. But that is true of just about any project car unless you win the lottery and find a hemi cuda in a barn somewhere.

You didn't mention the engine build, so assuming it is a period correct mostly stock engine and not a later motorhome transplant....

then: It's all there minus the AC, mechanical work done, reasonable rust, etc. .... all-in-all a pretty attractive project if this is the type of car someone wants. That's who you price it for.... so aim a little high unless you are in a hurry to sell. I'd start at $25k hold fairly firm and see what offers it brings. I think at something under $20k it would sell pretty quickly.

Good luck, Great car.

Yeeeah, I'm with @69 hemibee On this one. We all know it'll only bring what someone's Willing to pay. Hold out long enough at $45K and you'll get it. If I've learned one thing? There's ALWAYS a Mopar lover out there EVERY DAY receiving an Auto Accident Settlement Check. It's all in the timing.

A/C B body car without A/C engine bay OE is a definite minus. That stuff is tough to find. 18-22K seems reasonable for the condition per the pix.

Just wondering where did these numbers come from?

I'm not too sure this car is a "Fair" condition car.

$10 seems a little light. $25 is pushing it. Buy it for $25 and put $50-60 or more restoring it and you are past that excellent condition price. You could start at $20 and see what happens. You might get $15 out of it .

I haven't looked at prices in a long time, but $20,000 seems about right to me.
