1969 Road Runner New turn signal switch wire colors dont match!

So I have a turn signal sw I am replacing in my 1969 road runner. I got the part installed and went to hook the wire connector up below the dash and long and behold the wire colors dont match! about half the colors match, (red,black, white, orange). These match both on the turn sinal switch wiring itself and the dash wire harness. On the turn signal switch I still have three wire colors that dont coincide with any of the remaning colors on dash harness. I dont want to burn up the harness. Has anyone encounter this problem? If so any tips on figuring what wires connect to what colors. I've already smoke checked my sanity trying to figure this out. So please any help would be greatly appreciated!:icon_sad:

I ran into this on a switch also, and wrote the changes down just in case.

New switch ------------ Old switch

light green -------------- dark green
black/green tracer -------------- light green
grey ------------------ light brown
