1969 Roadrunner Clutch Fan

I have a 69 RR with a 440. Motor is stock 440 with original pulleys. Has A/C. Radiator is stock replacement radiation (26"). Having trouble finding a clutch fan to fit the car. Clearance is very slim between water pump and radiator. I have a fan that fits but there is only about a 1/2 space between the front of the fan clutch and the radiator. that seems like it is way too close. Have tried all local auto part stores and even Summit to find a fan clutch with a shorter shaft. Need something less than 3" between the water pump surface and extreme outer edge of fan clutch. Can anyone suggest where to go from here?

You will have to use a Hayden 2765. It measures about 2.75" and is actually for a Jaguar. That is the shortest one made that will fit our cars. The only thing I don't like about it is that it would be nice if the mounting flange was a bigger diameter. I used some standard washers on the bolts and it has been fine so far. Alot of guys are running this clutch on Mopars with no problems.

Is the radiator 3 rows of 3/4" tubes or? slightly thicker rows are common on the replacement 26" radiators.

Nope, that fits perfect.

I went a different route as I heard from some that the 2765's don't hold up as well considering they were made for a plastic fan. So I went with a Hayden 2705 which was used on the AMC I6's and V8's. Over all height difference is 2.67 vs. 3.11. Know you were looking for less than 3" but thought I'd offer it up.

hunt2elk....thanks for the advice. that fan clutch worked perfectly. it was a lot of fun to install, but worked perfectly
