Great color and the vinyl top sets it off nicely! Hard to find them in that condition, cool ride
Thanks again for the great welcome and positive comments. I thought I'd provide an update. I should preface this with the following: my grandfather, father and oldest brother were/are blessed with the mechanical genes in the family. My grandfather and father have long passed but my oldest brother is helping me stay on the straight and narrow with my treasure. I can spot the gems, and know a fair amount of model information but when it comes to wrenching my skills are limited. So....here we go:
I sent the car to the restoration shop in West Virginia to get it re-commissioned for the spring of this year (Suspension, Brakes, Hoses, etc.). The motor needed to be assessed as well (83K original miles). The compression and Leak-Down tests showed a weak cylinder so a rebuild was in order.
The original owner added a Carter AVS, Intake Manifold and Exhaust Manifolds from another big block car and dual exhaust back in the early 80s. So, since it wasn’t 100% as it rolled off the line I made the decision to tweak things ever so slightly.
