1970 Road Runner Fuel Delivery Issue

Update, I pulled the tank and it is a good thing I did so. It is very rusty and not worth the effort to save as the amount of money to refurbish it is well above what a new tank costs.

I will be buying a Spectra tank per the above advice. I will also need a sending unit and figure I will buy the Spectra brand one as well. Will also buy some new J-bolts and fuel lines. I am hoping that changing out the ECC emissions hoses will not be too much of a hassle. Any other advice I should be aware of before I purchase these things and go for the install?

Thanks for the info on the lock ring. I plan on using the original one but will definitely buy from Bill if it does not work. I was looking at the Spectra tank from Rock Auto CR9D as well as the one on ClassicIndustries. ClassicIndustries does not list the manufacturer. Do you think they are the same tank? Any recommendation on the one to go with? I think they are both made from Niterne steel from what I can tell although the Spectra tank just says "lead tin coating". Spectra from Rock Auto is just barely cheaper. Any recommendation between the two?:

Not sure on classic's brand but go with spectra. You can also search ebay, there are quite a few on there
 
Check Amazon for a fuel tank. AMD was selling the Spectra tanks through Amazon. Have to be careful as I have seen instances of where a part will be described using the Spectra number and you get a different product. That happened to me on a Challenger tank I ordered for a customer.
 
Got all my parts except for the rubber ECS vapor lines. Do you know what size rubber fuel lines I need to buy to connect the 4 ports from the side of the tank to the vapor separator canister in the trunk? Is there a different size required for the hose that goes to valve cover or hose that goes from carb to valve cover? Thanks!
 
Good news. We installed the tank ourselves and it looks like it is all hooked up well. In case anyone is wondering, the ECS lines that hook from the tank to the canister are two sizes, two are 3/4" and the other two are 1/4". Anyways, installed the tank and got everything looking like it is hooked up correctly. Now we are just crossing our fingers and hoping it starts well and that there are no leaks. Cleaning up gas with the fumes and all is no fun! We used the old lock ring on the sending unit so hopefully no leaks there.

In light of not wanting to clean up much gas if this thing leaks or fails to start correctly, what is the minimum amount of gas you would put in the tank to try to start it for the first time? Any other tips before we fire it up? Thanks for all you guys help through this process!

a couple gallon should do the trick. Prime the carb before start up
