My brother's '70 Road Runner wins the daily driver class on Hot Rod's 2013 Drag Week! The car ran well all week with no problems and then marches down thru the 32 car bracket field to win the daily driver class. He did not put a wrench on the car all week. He ran a series of 11.5X pretty much all week, but still was a little too fast because his dial in (set by the weekly average minus .1 second) was 11.49 but he could only run 11.50 due to not having the roll bar. The frame connectors and torque boxes really stiffened up the car. Launch was at 1500 rpm and then mat it as soon as the car rolls out. I lashed the valves last week before he left for Drag Week on Saturday.
Hopefully next year the aluminum 588 CI Hemi '67 Belvedere will be ready (over 1000 hp on 92 Oct pump gas)!
