My Friend Pete complains & bickers a lot but he's a really hard & smart body guy and actually does really good work! Yours is more proof of that.

I'm sure he had a few choice words getting to this point, and I do gotta (yes, I said it like that.. ) catch up on his videos -particularly on this project.

Things appear to be coming together well out there in dusty MOAB!

Have had it back home for a week now, major parts less drive train and interior are bolted up. Parts from Detroit muscle technologies should be here tomorrow to get the windows in place.

Rebuilding the wiring harnesses at the moment. From what I understand, the auto trans blowing up sent the car to the junkyard. I'm not sure how it didn't burn down prior to that though given the number of wiring atrocities.

Beautiful job for sure, ive had a few convertible's and I've had a few runners, but never a convert runner, 70 by far my favorite year.
Can't wait to see it done!

Not a lot of progress on the car as of late. Wasnt going to complain about it, but the paint job on the car is bad. Runs everywhere. When the car was first delivered, it had multiple foot long runs in every panel.

Every time I go work on the car I see awful body work, more runs, or other blatant mistakes that I didnt notice before. The guy who did the paint job (SWRNC Pete Hughes) is a liar and a thief through and through. Will be taking the car over to someone professional to get fixed. Couple pictures of some of the runs in the car, trust me, theres plenty more. Probably going to have to get the hood totally stripped and repainted. A lot of the runs dont show up well on camera, but some are easily seen in person.

Not a crack, that's a rushed bondo job.

Big runs around the door handle that wont get covered up. Also notice the 6"run on the quarter going down the jamb. It's not on the body line for where the quarter rolls into the door jamb, but an eighth of an inch behind the body line.

Lip of the trunk lid is nothing but runs

Little hard to see on camera, but the inside of the tail light shrouds are nothing but runs as well.

Yeah, he's not good! I take back any good words I ever said about this guy.
It seems he's still focusing on the wrong things and it's showing in his workmanship.
I don't regret unsubscribing & having stopped watching his videos months ago!
He owes you a refund.

That paint job is unforgivable even for a newbie. There is no way i would even let someone see that if I did it.

It's waiting for me to work on it. Just been busy with other projects. Hope to have the new wire harness, dash, motor and front end together and in the car before the end of the year, but will see.

Man, I am sorry to see and hear about your disappointing paint and bodywork experience. That is truly a sign of a person who just doesn't care about their reputation or giving you what you paid for. Did you get it repainted or just repair what was there? I'm curious to hear what you ended up doing with it.
Years ago, I paid a guy to paint my 70 Challenger RT/SE 440 auto with air car. I made the mistake of paying him most of the money up front, and he took forever working on it. Car was basically rust free and just needed smoothed out and painted. What I got back was so far from what I imagined, I just couldn't believe it. I even loaned him my battery charger which he ruined and I had to go get it back from him instead of him returning it to me. What I got back was a wavy mess, runs everywhere along with sand scratches, and even DOG HAIR in the clear, that's right, dog hair from all his damn dogs wandering around in the shop and he didn't even tack cloth it off before he sprayed it. I was beyond pissed. It made me so mad, I rented a garage and bought what I needed and got back into doing body and paint myself. First car I did, won best paint of the first show I took it to.
Point I'm trying to make is, don't let guys like this get you down, push through and your revenge is having a sweet ride that you can show off and enjoy, despite him and his shoddy work.

this is the point i am at with mine. i found out today my car is a 1 of 3 FC7 cars produced as a convertible so that is pretty cool. my full quarter panels arrived this week. I can now start that process.

Do you mean there were only 3 Roadrunner converts in Fc7? Or with a certain motor.

@RemCharger Mine is a satellite there were 529 Satellite convertibles total produced in 1970 out of those .4% were FC7 plum crazy. there were 525 produced with V8 engines which mine is a 318 car with a 727 automatic.

I had no idea that things could get that rusty in Texas. Was the car near a river?

So one interesting bit of trivia here on 70 Road Runner convertibles vs Satellites is this is an unusual case where the performance RR version had a higher production total than the non-performance Satellite model. Yeah, pretty useless info I know.
