1972 Charger 440 Magnum emblems on front fenders?

This is my ex-boss' 72 SE 440 when I worked for him 40 years ago, he had it repainted, and they put the Charger and 440 emblems back on but too low on the fenders. Also missing Charger on the trunk lid.
Not the best picture but I remember seeing them.

I seem to remember way back in caveman days when I had a 72 SE the 440 emblem was above the Charger and the 400 was below. My pornographic memory could be failing me.
I swapped in a 360 and a friend had a 70 440 R/T and he removed the emblems and put them on my car. We went to the local dealer and asked where they went.
