Alright guys I have searched and searched. I have a 1973 charger with ac and a 400. I just finished restoring it for a gentleman but I am having a starting issue. It has the msd atomic fuel injection and msd box. When I hook up the alternator the car just cranks, sometimes it starts when letting off the key. If I pull the field wire off the car starts fine and when I hook it up with the car running everything charges and works fine. Im getting really frustrated. I still have the ballast resistor and voltage regualtor hooked up. Any help would be great. Thanks

Your wiring should go like this:
BTW, do you have 2 "Field Wires" and a Ground on your alternator or 1?
For your application you need a "Round Back" Alternator (I think) Post 70......
Pre-70 has "Square Back" (I may have these reversed)

BUT: Point is you should have 2 Field wires....
