I'm looking for a factory appearing direct bolt in replacement for a 28" radiator that would have come in a 1974 Plymouth B-body. Does anyone know of any company that offers such an item? So far I have not come across anything in my search that isn't a generic looking radiator or something that is custom built and costs an arm and a leg. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an original, took it out to put in a Champion. I searched for one, but never found one, that is why I went with Champion.

I did a lot or reaearch on this as my 73 Roadrunner has a 28" radiator, part number 3673028, and here is what i found.

First, 1-800-Radiator could not find one so i contacted a local Vista pro shop and they found one that was brass, but it arrived damaged. I spoke with my radiator guy and he could only find the plastic and aluminum ones. Next, and believe it or not, Oreilys Auto parts actually found one in a warehouse that was correct. Most of the replacements now made are plastic and aluminum and the part numbers are the same on these and the ones that are brass.

The direct replacement is a Spectra Premium CU504, but that one is discontinued, so CU510 will also work. The one i got was a Ready Rad 433510 from Oreilys.

I tacked on a picture of it. It appears thinnner then the original, but that is because my tanks on the original were designed to go on a 2 or 3 row core, my replacement is a 2 core. the top tank has bumps a bit higher where the inlets connect, but i did a test fit and should not be a problem.

I wish someone would start making the correct direct replacement again, but this is what i found.

good luck, i hope this helps you find one.

Thanks for the responses, at least I know I'm not the only one having trouble locating one of these. I have my original, but it would probably take a lot of work to make it functional and show quality. Thanks again for the suggestions, I will definately look into these some more.

If your upper and lower tanks are good, you should be able to have a good radiator shop re-core it. My tanks were shot, pretty much spidered with too many cracks to guarantee that it would not fail, so i had no choice but find a new one.

Does anyone know the correct black paint color (satin?) and who makes the paint for this particular radiator and year? Would a same year A/C compressor be the same type of black color?
