I really need you guys help right now. I removed the ignition coil from my Cordoba to replace it with a new one. I carefully took the first cable from - (minus) on the old and put it on - on the new coil.

I went on to do the same with the + side. Problem is, there were two cables on + on the original coil. One of them seemed to go directly to ground but had a cylinder type thingy on the end. What the hell is that?

It seems very bad to have a cable from the plus side of the ignition coil directly to ground(it was fitted under the bracket that holds the ignition coil to the engine).

The small cylinder had no markings what so ever except for a couple of numbers that read: "2884869" and below them "648".

I just skipped the cable and the engine started fine, but I wonder if it has some kind of function?

Thanks in advance!
