Hi everyone!

My name is Randy, I'm another canuck living in Kelowna, BC. I have a 1975 Dodge Coronet (2 door) that I bought a few months ago and am eager to start fixing it up! I'm an active member on the Dodge Coronet Registry (DCR) and recently stumbled upon this site. I will be taking some more up to date pictures tomorrow and post them up for you guys. I actually owned a 4 door 75' Coronet a few years ago and ever since have been wanting another Coronet. I found this 2 door model for $2000 and couldn't pass it up. It's in pretty good shape but does need some body work. I plan on turning it into a total custom beast!

I look forward to talking with everyone on the site!
Cheers!

Good to have you here. Nice score- wish I had another 75'net myself! Help you anyway I can.

Hey welcome fellow Canadian! Your going to love this site! I do!!

Thanks guys! I didn't have a chance to take any pictures today, I ended up installing my Grant steering wheel and messing with my stereo. However I will post a picture from awhile ago just so you have something to look at. The chrome trim on the side is no longer there.

Welcome to FBBO. We'll be looking for you down in the 75-79 section.
My first Mopar was a 75 Corone (the T was broken off the emblem). It was a 4dr ex LA county sheriff's department car that I'd pile a half dozen or so of my Marine buddies into for our forays into town. Big fun was taking turns fast enough to make the hubcaps fly off (like we'd all seen on the TV cop shows). If they didn't cause any property damage, we'd go back and get em and pound em back on.
Juvenile yes, but addicting. :headbang:
The whole town probably would've been better off if theyd have just let us into the bars.

Oh, man... it that thing was all black I'd have tears in my eyes...lol

Thanks for the welcomes guys! Jonnyuma: That sounds like a fun time! I used to have a lot of fun with my friends in my old 4 door Coronet. Big Jim: It actually will be black someday when I have the money for bodywork and paint. Everyone likes the green paint but a) it's not the original colour anyways, and b) I've always wanted a black muscle car. This car is not going to be about keeping it original.

I don't think I can edit my initial post on this thread, but I had intended to talk a little about myself. I'm only 23, but I have loved Mopar since I was little and have always wanted to be a part of the muscle scene. I'm not actually from Kelowna, I grew up in a small town just outside of Regina, Saskatchewan. I moved to Kelowna two years ago for school and recently graduated and received my diploma in Audio Engineering. I'm currently working as a freelance live sound engineer mostly doing local shows around Kelowna. I've been learning about cars for a few years now but am definitely no expert. So I will be asking lots of questions as work progresses on the car. I have a friend who's been a mechanic for many years and has taught me a lot. He'll be helping out with the car quite a bit. My other car is a 1986 Plymouth Caravelle (318).

Anyways, that's me in a nutshell.

welcome randy,75 coronet was a good ride in it's day.

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a year and a half since I've been on this site! I just started working at my new job when I left, and the past year has been quite eventful for me. But now I'm back, and I've been paying attention to the car again, and have REALLY started to plan things out for it!

I have a vision for this car, and realize I will end up putting a lot of time and money into it. But, this is the car I want to fix up, and I can't wait to get started! I will be designing it as a pro-touring car that will be used as my daily driver. Where I live, the winters are very mild, and I can drive the car pretty much year round. The bottom line of this project is that everything will be custom, and I have no need or desire to keep things original.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined person, so I have been doing a lot of research over the past year, and hope to learn much along the way. Here is what I know so far:

It will have a Gen III Hemi with EFI. I haven't decided on which particular engine yet, but I would really like to run the 6.4L 392. I haven't decided on an engine management system yet either, but I am leaning towards the Fast XFI. Unless of course it's more practical for me to run a factory or other setup depending on my needs. I'm not looking for extreme power, just a very reliable, fuel efficient, yet fun engine.

I am still figuring out whether I will go with a 6 speed manual transmission, or attempt to utilize the factory 5 speed automatic. I have been reading a lot about speed sensors, and will need to dig into this further to see what this means for me and how I will make things work with the gauges I want to use. I plan to go with the Dakota Digital VHX series of gauges, specifically the dual round pair.

I plan to upgrade to a 4 wheel disk brake system with rack and pinion steering. I will likely be replacing the steering column with one from Flaming River or XV motorsports as I will be going with a floor shift regardless of using an automatic or a manual transmission. I will be replacing the front bench seat with two buckets so I can install a console with a floor shifter. Also, I will be going with the Digital Guard Dawg key-less ignition\entry system. The steering column I get will be floor shift with no key. I will need to figure out which particular column size will be the ideal replacement.

I want to upgrade to power windows\locks and have cruise control. (If I'm going automatic). I want air-conditioning and have been checking out the Vintage Air systems. Dakota Digital makes a really nice digital climate control module that interfaces with the Gen IV vintage air system. I would like to design a custom dash for the car, and give the interior a slightly modern feel. I am still pondering ideas and may seek out someone that can create some concept sketches for me.

As for the exterior, I plan to get rid of the white vinyl top, and the car itself will be black. The theme of the interior to match will be black and blue. I really like the look of the 75' Roadrunner tail-lights\bumper setup, and if possible I would like to use that as I find it to be a much cleaner look. It will have dual exhaust for sure. Once the majority of the car is completed, I will work on the stance and figure out with rims\tires I will be going with. (Long way off).

That's about all I can think of for now. It's 4 in the morning here and my brain has about shut off for the day. I won't be able to do a heck of a lot for awhile until I save up some money, but I have started to strip out some of the interior to see what I have to work with. I will post some pictures tomorrow. For now, I will leave you with 3 recent pictures I have taken of the car.

I really look forward to getting to know everyone here, asking questions (there will be lots), and listening to the great tips/advice I'm sure many of you will be able to provide.

Cheers!!
