I remember going with my dad to his friends house around 1981-82 and his buddy had a white with red interior that was having trouble starting and running smoothly. The guy was upset to that all along the cowl vent screen area was already starting to show rust stains. It really stood out on white paint. Not good years for mopar quality wise, but those cars we're sharp looking. Also read guy from the general did design of this body style?

That Crown package roof is a sort of precursor to the later "boat tail" design language on the M body Lebaron coupes. Mine's a 79.
Okay... they were actually concurrent, but I think the Doba Crown did come first.

Yep, Wendell Koch purchased it from the original owner, Livingston Freed of Emmaus, P.A. around 1998 according to the receipts I have for maintenance. That looks like him in the photo..blonde hair standing by his convertible Cordoba. From what I was able to find out Mr. Freed sold the car to Wendell in 1998 with 25,000 miles on the odometer. Wendell then sold the car around 2013 to a guy who just bought it to flip. He placed it on Ebay and the fellow I bought it from up in Hackettstown, N.J. bought it 2013. I have owned it approx 2 months now. Wendell put up a few Youtube vids about his cars under wencuda...check it out. I have been trying to get in touch with him but I guess he moved out of P.A. a few years ago.

Yeah, my Daytona and me standing next to Wendell. His place was about 10 miles from me. Met him when he submitted his cars for the member rides section of the CordobaClub website I was running. He sold all the cars when he his health started getting too bad to get any enjoyment out of them and think he moved somewhere warm but dunno for sure.
As clean as that white 77 is, and I recall it being pretty much spotless, there was absolutely no distracting me from the tan drop top. Don't ask me to explain why I didn't buy that thing - it was every bit as clean. At least I got a ride in it!

Yeah the guy who bought my white car also bought the one of 5 convertible. His name is Carmine Genovese. From what I gather Wendell moved to Fla. He also had a Cuda which is on one of his Youtube videos. Ironically after I loaded the car and left Hackettstown N.J. that day my route took me through Emmaus PA where the oeiginal owner lived and then through Quakertown where the car was sold new.

Wendel was living in Macungie and ya would have had a hard time finding his place even if ya knew exactly where it was. He took one of the Dobas to a cruise night in Trexlertown every month for a couple years so they're probably pretty well known around here. Quakertown CP has been gone for a least a decade so hope ya didn't spend too much time looking for that.

Macungie, right...He lived in Emmaus prior to that I believe. Wow, that many. I have been a diehard Mopar guy for over 40 years and have never seen one. Did Chrysler contract those convertibles with ASC? I know they worked closely with Mopar on other cars like the fold back sunroof on the 1971 Duster/Demon.

Emess Coach Builders, Largo FL. Searched them a few years ago, recall they did a lot of small batch new car conversions. Specs in this flyer don't match "as built". For one thing, the soft tops didn't have the opera window.
