Hello Guys,

does anybody know a good source for a 20:1 manual steering box or have one for sell?
I wouldn't mind 1 1/4" sector shaft (if it exists).

alternatively i would consider throwing money on a borgeson 14:1 ps box. but i think a simple 20:1 manual box will make me happy too.

I have two of them but not sure of the ratio ,
Not sure of the 1 1/4 sector
How do I check for these,

Use dial calipers if you have them to check shaft diameter. You can use a tape measure as well but burn an inch to ensure a proper measurement. Unless they came off of a TA/AAR then they are most likely 20:1.

Hi Moparsal,

thanks a lot for your response.
I am fine with either 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" size. the advantage with 1 1/4" would be the cheaper pitman arms available :)

if the boxes you have in hands and they are probably a little worn, i would be interested independently the gear-ratio. I would then order a 20:1 worm gear rebuilt from firmfeel in conjunction with an used steering box.

to my knowledge, it is very unlikely that a basic manual steering box will have a 20:1 ratio, if you don't explicitly know that you have one of those.
24:1 was the original basic version. some converted to 16:1....but this would be a bit too much for me in a manual box.

Firm Feel will rebuild yours to stock, 24:1, or options are 20:1, & 16:1. I just had mine done to stock, as it won't be a handling car...
