I agree and wonder if it's because of the transportation cost to New England for some of the smaller independent teams.
The bigger teams are mostly located in Indianapolis and the tow to the West Coast has to cost more than the tow to New England.
I can easily see NHRA dropping this event if the pro category car counts continue low.
It also makes me wonder what the car counts are going to be like for the Western Swing. Car counts are not yet posted on nhra.com for the Mile-High Nationals.
