I know our "Pick 'Em" game is only for the Professional classes, but you may want to keep an eye on Top Alcohol Dragster at the Las Vegas Nationals next weekend.
There's going to be a competitor driving for the very first time in a National event. Tony Stewart will be in the #314 TAD. This should be interesting to see how he does in both qualifying and eliminations.
There are 21 TADs entered so he doesn't have qualifying guaranteed.
I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get some TV coverage.
I wonder if he's getting his feet wet
& going to run a T/F car later (his own team)
he did some passes, burnout & quick hits/launches, then shut-off
so he could get the feel of it, understand it
no real full passes "allegedly" in Leah's/Don's car before he started his team
it was still a DSR car/team, it was a while back too
Palm Beach (?) or after Indy maybe even Las Vegas (maybe ? both/all 3)
I don't remember
IIRC he's done a couple of stints, at Frank Hawley's school
he got a NHRA comp license a while back
he did a deal in a IIRC a low 9-second EV Mustang (barf)
& in a 7-second Factory Showdown Challenger/Hemi too,
Leah's car maybe again (?) he ran in the 8's IIRC
IIRC it all was in the Dragzine newsletter...
IIRC it was all last year, before they got married...
I think if he can 'get off the line quick', he'll do just fine
hopefully 'no bad tire shake' or 'smoke show' (pun intended)
