2025 15th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - I Can't Wait!!!

@ocdart
Stick with my "locked in" pick for Pomona

let em' ride, tell they buck ya' off

Congrats, Dan!

I'm tempted to jump back to Greg Anderson, but I'll stick with Dallas for now. He's doing well.

Here's your 'Tuesday before the race' notice for the 65th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, March 27-30, at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip in Pomona, CA.
Please check the driver entries and post your picks before Pro Stock and Nitro qualifying starts so you will be eligible for all event bonus points. The first of the scheduled four rounds of Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:00pm EDT (1:00pm PDT) on Friday.
As of this morning nhra.com currently shows the following entries:
15 Top Fuel
20 Funny Car
21 Pro Stock

Pro Stock Motorcycle will not compete at this event.

I suggest you double-check to make sure your drivers are racing since there were some no-shows at both of the first two events of the season. If your posted driver skips the event and you do not select a replacement prior to the start of eliminations, I will use your posted driver from the most recent completed event. Unfortunately, any replacement driver after the start of qualifying will not be eligible for any event bonus points.

The current weekend weather forecast shows:
* Friday should be mostly sunny with a high of 70F
* Saturday shows the same
* Sunday shows mostly sunny with a high of 71F

The current television schedule for the Winternationals...
* Top Fuel All-Star Callout: 9:30-10:30pm EDT (6:30-7:30pm PDT), Friday, March 28 on FS1

* Qualifying Show 2: Noon-1:30pm EDT (9:00-10:30am PDT), Sunday, March 30 on FS1
* Final eliminations: 6:30-9:30pm EDT (3:30-6:30pm PDT), Sunday, March 30 on FS1

All television coverage will also re-air at later times. Check www.nhra.com.

Don't miss out!

Man that was a really poor showing for Anderson and Glenn at the end. Like Greg said, that was ugly. Going to change things up a little for Pomona. Even though Tasca is really fast right now something about him rubs me the wrong way. Hope Capps makes it ok, that wreck had John Force written all over it.
Here we go for Pomona.

TF Kalitta
FC Beckman
PS Anderson

The current weather forecast has changed slightly which means Pomona could be really quick.
Why?
Because the crew chiefs are going to be able to really refine their tune ups because the temps and conditions across all three days of qualifying and eliminations. Also, because "eliminations" in the Too Fast, Too Tasty and the Top Fuel Callout competitions are going to start with Q1.

* Friday should be partly sunny with a high of 69F

* Saturday shows the same
* Sunday shows partly sunny with a high of 67F

Congratulations to both 'johnnycuda' (FABO) and 'TT5.9mag' (FABO) for sharing the 2025 Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals Top Qualifier title with a PERFECT total of 24.0 bonus points. They both correctly picked the #1 qualifiers in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock.
'stroked340' (FABO) was right behind with 23.5 bonus points.
'GTXDAN' was the highest FBBO player with 22.0 qualifying bonus points.

More great picks!

We have 15 players again this week and 11 different driver combos made up of:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 if all four drivers survive Round 1.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #3 qualifier Ron Capps (2 picks) and #14 qualifier Spencer Hyde (1 pick). There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers survive Round 1.
Again, one Funny Car driver pick did not qualify for Sunday eliminations.

* 3 different Pro Stock drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #7 qualifier Dallas Glenn (5 picks) and #10 qualifier Erica Enders (5 picks). The only other possibility of a head-to-head matchup would be the final round of eliminations if both drivers survive until then.

Good luck all!

Congratulations to 'GTXDAN' (FBBO) for winning the "Top Picker Eliminator" title for the 2025 65th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals with a very nice total of 117.0 points. He picked the class winners in both Funny Car and Pro Stock; his Top Fuel pick lost in the second round of eliminations. He was also helped with ET bonus points in Pro Stock.
'TT5.9mag' (FABO) and 'johnnycuda' (FABO) shared the runner-up spot with 104.0 points each.
Way to go!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Brittany Force, 3.641 during qualifying
Speed - Shawn Langdon, 338.68 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Austin Prock, 3.816 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Greg Anderson, 6.476 while winning the final round of eliminations
Speed - Matt Hartford, 211.96 during Round 1 of eliminations

Congrtas to @GTXDAN, great elimination picks

the winners except maybe JFR F/C Jack Beckman
or Greg Anderson in P/S, many were upsets
all the big hitter's seemed to loose traction, or went out early
or in the 1st/2nd rds it seemed
sort of an underdogs race,
it was sort of fun to see people, not usually winning, get interviewed

David Freiberger (Roadkill fame) was on the Pits broadcast team, for FS1 too
that was pretty cool to see, he did well

Hey I finally got one. Like Budnicks said top fuel was full of upsets. I was afraid it was going to happen in FC too as D Wilkerson was running good all day too, and B Alexander was coming on too, it just looked like there was going to be an upset in FC too.
I thought Freiburger did a good job with everything he reported on as he is good at explaining how stuff works. I would have liked to see TS win in TF but I like CM, he seems like a good all around guy.

Congrats, Dan!

I keep thinking I should go back to Greg Anderson. But I know if I do, Dallas will start winning. So for now I'll just think it. :rolleyes:

I was planning to post the 4-Wides scoring with the 'Tuesday before the event' reminder. But since 'Yunick13' (FABO) asked, here they are...

The 4-Wides are scored differently. I will be using the same scoring this year as previously used and, again, this scoring is only for the 4-Wide events, both Las Vegas and Carolina.

Points change for 4-Wide events ONLY!!!

Same scoring rules as the past several years:
* These events only have 3 rounds of eliminations. Event scoring will be similar to the NHRA points scoring.
* Qualifying position bonus points are the same as always
* Each pro elimination round is run with 4 cars per race rather than 2, and 2 cars advance from each of the first 2 rounds of eliminations.
* First round: Four races of four cars each. The 1st car of each race to cross the finish line will get 10 points, the 2nd car will get 5 points. Eight cars advance to the second round of eliminations.
* Second round: Two races of four cars each. Same scoring as the first round. Four cars advance to the final round of eliminations.
* Final round: One race of four cars. 1st Place finisher will get 10 points, 2nd Place will get 5 points, 3rd Place will get 3 points, 4th Place will get 1 point.
* Same scoring for quickest e.t. and fastest speed for the event and for any national record set at this event.

Again, this scoring will be for the 4-Wide events only.

Here's your 'Tuesday before the race' notice for the 15th annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 11-13, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV.

The current television schedule for the Vegas Four-Wide Nationals...

* Qualifying Show 2: 11:00am-Noon EDT (8:00-9:00am PDT), Sunday, April 13 on FS1
