Please give me your opinions.
A week ago last Friday I took my 62 Savoy in for an alignment and pinion seal change. the Savoy is a factory /6 car and I put a 440 in it, that I freshened up and ran great.
I trailer it in and drop it off on my lunch for it's 1PM appointment, I go back at 4:40 to get it and wait about 10 minutes for them to bring it around and pay the bill. When I left the car it had oil pressure, when they bring it back around for me it has 0 oil pressure and valve train rattling. I go in and ask the guy about it and he says it had pressure when he pulled it around, I show him it doesn't now. I give them the benefit of the doubt and think maybe something I did went wrong. I check oil pump shaft, pump, filter, pan, pickup and still no pressure, so off comes the intake and there I see 2 lifter out of their bores and 2 really bent push rods. I put the lifters back in and replace the push rods and the oil pressure returns. I stab the engine back in nad now I can't get it to time. trying to set it at 34, when I 1st put the timing light on it I seen close to 75 degrees and when I tried to go to 34 it started backfiring. I believe the engine was over revved causing the timing to jump a tooth or 2 and bend the pushrods and spit the lifters.
