360 oil pan?

as intimidating as the engine is. the trans may as well be Chinese to me. hahahah. i dont understand **** about them. i dont know how they work i just know theyre there hahahah.

Not even joking.. transmission is easier once you do one... take it apart and check/replace stuff that's worn out.. put back together and check endplay/adjustments... I did my first one with just a exploded view... the book i have now is all step by step directions

That is a good book for reading and seeing interesting stuff on big inch exotics, but if you are on a budget you just need a book dealing with torque specifications and regular assembly procedures.
Ill be honest with you i though that is what that was. any recommendations on an assembly help book for a stroker 306/408

408 doesn't make it any different to put together... same as a 273 pretty much

Thank you. Yeah i was looking for something that would provide a step by step or instructions with torque spec/sequences clearance specs stuff like that. this is my first time attempting to build an engine so im pretty much only youtube certified at this time hahahah.

It's all just details.. get a book and read it a couple of times... there are things people miss.. like valve reliefs on the wrong sides, rear seal backwards... just tons of stuff. take your time and triple check everything.

if i dont loose my mind building the engine ill definitely give it a try hahahahah. i do want to beef up/refresh my little 904.

My first (and only) automatic rebuild in the mid 70's was a 727 and only because I cracked the case when trying to pull the neutral safety switch out of it. Had an older buddy come over with a stand for the transmission and tons of knowledge. I was amazed at how easy it was. Thing is, we didn't check pressures etc. Did check clearances and the like and it worked when installed.
