383 Stroker? Now I'm not so sure

Mr. Poncho was out in his driveway Tripod and all, taking pictures for a long time. I think he worships this car. He is a Detroit auto worker, GM, moved down to my area. I sometimes think I got into the wrong line of work, he never seems to be at his. Anyway, I appreciate the help and some day Mr. Poncho............

please post up the day you take him out and whoop his ***. a pic of the look on his face will be priceless...

Keep in mind that his stroker puts out some serious torque. A quick google look at 461 stroker dyno sheets, lot of them are running +530 FT/TQ. If you're not stroking that 383, you're going to need to healthy Mod's to get that B-Block on the same playing field. Send over your arrogant neighbors address in the mean time, i'll go play with him and his precious Pontiac come next month..hehehehehe.

Pontiacs are sissy. They have zero street cred. Unless he's got some kinda ram air IV or V he ain't got a snowball's chance in hell against even a hot stock stroke 383. Pontiacs are slow, heavy and real slow to turn up torque. That's the traits of an under square engine. They suck balls. If you build a shag nasty 451, drive over, pop you hood and take a plug wire off and then blow his doors cause you'll be able to do it.

Thanks folks. Man, I'm glad I'm on your side. When I looked at his motor, and remember, I'm fairly new at all this, and he's telling me about how he stroked it, I noticed the heads and valve covers. All stock. The valve coverslooked no bigger than ones I've seen on a 318. They just looked small. What caught my attention was the ugly gray paint Pontiac uses as well. He is kind of limited with what he can do because he puts it in shows and has to keep as much of it stock as possible. He came over one day to look at my 68 Charger and dismissed it with a sneer. He didn't like the suspension system Mopar used (I do) and was not impressed. I plan to have the 383 stroked, aluminum heads, the works. You guys alerted me to a stroker company in the Midwest and they say I can take the 383 to 489 cubes (listed as 496) it will run great, and leave the goat in a ditch. I'm a "type B" person normally but, when he got reall snotty with me when I introduced myself, put his hands around my neck because my wife has a foreign car, and dismissed my projects, I need to uphold the Mopar family so its on. Can't say when (money money money). But I have received some great help on this forum.

Awesome! 496 in your Charger will eat him and that Pontiac to bits......
