3D Printer...Any plastic needs still out there that aren't already reproduced.

Interesting set screw on that last one.

Guesses on final price?

Thanks for setting me straight, YY1 and 99ss. My knowledge of them is a bit dated so I had to ask the question. It's a brave new world!

One is now $23 plus shipping with about one day to go.

The other is $13+ with a few days left.

What happened to the op? Im curious to know what he can get made for us.

Before we get too excited the OP needs to clarify the size constraints. We had a 3d printer at my last job and most limit part size to around one cubic foot or smaller. The mid grade printers only use ABS which is very strong if the plastic layup grain direction is correctly chosen. The higher end printers can print about 8 different plastics down to ten times greater resolution which is about .001". Multiple colors possible with those but only 2 or so with ABS like black and natural. The ABS is rough and not that sandable but the materials for the other type Can be sanded to get Teflon smooth.
It also takes some design skill as the printer works off of 3d files so he has to measure and draw things up in solidworks or some similar program. The technology is very useful to check fit of complex parts before machining. That's nice if he is really willing to help some of us out.

$34.50 plus $3.50 and $26.50 plus $4.

Both within the range specified earlier in the thread.

Whoever had those prices in the final value listing....you're a WINNER!

I'm thinking grill pieces. Take a '68 GTX for example. Many times one or two grill bars are missing. Not enough to trash the grill over mind you, but the missing pieces kinda give it that toothy, Ozark look. If he could model up replacement grill bars in a longer length (say 4") out of ABS, that would be the cat's ***.

Sorry guys I've been neglecting this thread. The 3D printer my buddy has can probably handle about a cubic foot of space. It has the capability to do multiple colors and types of plastic. The specific questions about what it can do as far as tolerance I have no idea I'll ask at work on Monday.

I cant tell you how big this will become. But let me give you an idea. Bill Gates didn't invent the computer. He just figured out what to DO with it! The materials available to print with will expand exponentially. Right now these machines are not much more than the "Odysseys", or "Ataris" of this medium. I'm working to find my niche in this, are you?
