Can anyone tell me on the 3speed wiper switch, there are two posts that are separate from the terminal. The bottom post is the brown wire loop to the washer switch, what is the vertical post for? What wire connects to it?

thanks!

I have a wiring diagram that show the switch connections. c_4.jpgc_5.jpg

Here is a picture of the switch. The flat post in the forefront is the one I'm not sure of.

I will have to look at mine again, I know one comes from the washer fluid switch and the other is the jumper from the main block plug in. I will try to look and see but it may take a bit, friend has my car for a suspension issue.

o.k. here is what you need to do. In the picture of your connector just below the red wire at the top of the pic. is two brown wires connecting into one port. One of those wires connect to the tab at the top of the switch (in the picture) (see wiring diagram for correct color wire.) the one on the side is connected to the wiper fluid pump switch. This should get you up and working.

Junk pile,

thanks for the update. I am on the road but will give it a shot in a few days. I'm going to Spring Carlisle on Fri and will take the wiper motor to Laysons for rebuild.

On mine (70 Charger), the terminal with the two wires coming out, one of the wires goes directly to the wiper switch and the two open spades you are showing are jumpered together. Not sure why but I found different wiring diagrams for the same switch.

Here is my post when I had switch issues.

I ended up needing to take my switch apart and cleaning the terminals. Not easy to do and not sure I would recommend since a few small parts inside that go everywhere when it is opened. Got it working for a little bit but it is acting up and won't park again so I am looking for a new switch now.
