Hi!
I am building a 360 stroker with 4inch stroke and eddy rpm heads with a good valve job and some clean up, comp is 10,9, and ihave a eddy rpm intake ans a demon 650dp,1,5/8 headers 3 collector . But wath can i do to get most bang for the bucks,
The man who is doing the machine job recomand me to get compcam XE284h or XE285HL.i have a XE274 now and have stock rockers is it any other cheap parts that would gain hp example windage trail.
Thanks Thomas

Is that what he recommended ? are you doing any head work ?
If you bought those heads already then have them done by someone that is good, the 650 is small and those cam choices are great for a 360 with some ok performance
. You need a good intake, you need more carb and i would rethink the cam.

.

This is rebuilt of my Engine, its not a full ported just a Clean up on my old heads, is those cam choise to small, i Think its better with 420hp with good tourqe than 500hp and no tourqe. can i use a windage tray with stroke crank.

Yeah it's gonna make tq either way, the thing is its breathing differently and its not going to be fed correctly to make the right numbers, the Edel heads are great on a 18 or 60, stroked you need them to be more.
You could use a windage tray, but if you're not gonna be hanging at big rpm all day what do you expect to gain ?
Gonna road race or you're worried about low end ?? windage trays aren't for lowend, there for holding rpm

Now when you say old heads clean up are we talking edel heads or factory heads ?

The edelbrock rpm heads is my old theres gonna be some minor portwork not full. and a good valve job.

But when the Engine in on rebuilt i want to do some upgrade to make more Power, but i dont know if its any good ide to change cam (xe274h) and carb 650 to a bigger, if it 20hp more it doesnt Worth it`. The windage tray seems to make Power on a 340. my Engine was built in US it came with a car that i bought so maybe it is a good combo as it is.

The windage tray helps the crank from not dealing with the oil being kept in its way, if you're gonna be road racing or some other type of driving where the motor will be at upper rpms longer than a few second then sure it will help.

A 650 on a 410 is already effecting it's ability to breath and killing it to around 5000 rpm, anything after that is rpm, so if you had the ability to make power to 6500 you aren't without 800 cfm.

You should have the heads done for any more potential and the intake you're using is also important.

Those cams are small for that motor, good cams for a 340 and 360 but you don't have a 340 or 360 anymore.

I used a custom roller for my truck which was as i remember 236@50, 555 lft on 108cl. That truck was great for towing and that motor was great low thru mid
I would look more in the range of 238 to 248@50 108 to 110 the lift will go along with those two and be in the 550 to 570, but the carb and unsure what intake you have now will limit that cams performance as it won't get enough air in, and that wants more air.

I have a edelbrock rpm intake and a Mighty demon 650 or a holley 850hp i have a xe284h at home and i hope that wiil be better than the xe274h but if it will be much better i will order a new cam
