So I need to pick up a coil for my hemi I’m running the factory dual point prestolite distributor
with the ballast resistor. What brand coil do you guys recommend? I was thinking
about using the standard brand coil just wanted to see what others suggested.
Oh and it’s a street driven car and has right at 11:1 compression and using autolite AR 53 plugs for now.
Thanks

Using an oem mopar coil on mine. Same dual points ignition system

Yep, any standard 1.5 ohm coil will do the trick.

Thanks guys! So how about plug gap? I know there will different gaps but just wondering what others are gapping to.
Thanks again

I’ve been using .017” but like to check with a dwell meter once up and running.

I like to use a the trusty chrome Accel coil or if you want a stock look, I use the MSD blaster coil.
It is red but I paint it black to look like a stock coil.

@Jerry Hall A painted MSD Blaster coil is what I used on your red 67 GTX

It's been changed, as well as the distributor.

Running .035 with a chrome box on one engine, orange box same gap on other engine.

If a 1.5 ohm is correct. Try
PERTRONIX 40011 FLAME-THROWER COIL 40,000 VOLT 1.5 OHM BLACK
I have used them on many cars.
