so I have finally started to tear down the motor I bought last year and first question is...... what are the two notches on the sides of my pistons? ive looked at pics of other 426 wedge pistons on this site and I haven't seen these on others? I cant find a pic of pistons like mine anywhere?

They indicate which end of the piston faces forward. All pistons with an offset have a notch, an "F", or an arrow on them to indicate the end that faces forward.

ok so why two notches per piston? one bigger than the other?

I know what the motor is im just trying to figure out the purpose of the notches. if it was just for orientation then why two? one big and one small? (notch)

It is nothing, just the way it hit the marking machine. There is no meaning in the difference between the notches, and they only dictate the front of the piston.
