440 Block question

i just bought a 440 block to use as a spare stroker engine. After removing the timing chain cover, I noticed the casting broken away above the camshaft. See photo. What impact does this have on oiling?

If you're referring to this area, it's factory. If you're rebuilding, this can be cleaned up.

supposed to be there. looks like you have a lot of casting flash that should be removed.

Ok thanks. It just looked odd to me and for some reason I thought a hole might have been punched into the side.
