Have a rebuilt 440 w the following..I am looking to change out the cam to a more streetable profile.
The current cam is not streetable....
440 bored .030 with all the right bottom end pieces etc.
6091 Edelbrock RPM heads w 84cc ch
L-2295-F forged pistons for what looks to be final 10.7:1 comp
Edelbrock RPM intake w 750 dp ann dis Holley
1.5 cast iron isky adj rockers
727 w possibly getting a 42200 Street Fighter converter
3.23 rear(could change to a 3.55/3.73 but want highway driveability)
all for a 3500lb 69 RR conv.

I am considering a Lunati 10230704(hyd .513/.533lift 234/242dur 110/106LS) however it was recommended by their tech to get a custom grind of the same with 112LS

Another guided choice was the Hughes HEH3237BL(hyd .540/.548lift 232/237dur 110degLS) Their tech said to actually regrind to 108degLS.

I am hearing that the change to 108LS will really kill the low end though.
Thoughts?

of those 2 cam choices I would take the Lunati 112 LS for the street

I agree that you want to stick with a fairly low overlap cam for the street. As mentioned 112 lobe separation will be good. I'm running the MoPar .455" / 272 (112 LS) in my 440 and it's fantastic. Great vacuum and plenty of power. The tighter lobe separation cams like the 108 will actually make more peak torque but at a higher RPM, which is not what you want on the street. Are you sure you have 10.7:1 CR? Are the 2295's the six pack pistons? If so then depending on other factors you might be at or close to 10.7, and if that's really the case, then you might have to lower the compression so you can run a smaller cam and not have pinging issues.

I have been told by a reputable mopar engine builder that an engine around your specs calls for a cam around [email protected] duration cam, if this helps

I went with the Lunati Voodoo and they are going to grind it at 112 instead of 110. I will let you know the results. Also got a great deal on a Street Fighter 142200 converter which looks to have never been run...good choice?
