I've recently acquired a 1966 Chrysler New Yorker with a factory 440 4BBL. The car was last run in 1983 and parked in a barn where I got it. I puled it home and soaked in oil and trans fluid to free stuck rings/ valves I let the cylinders dry out and put plugs in it. Felt like it had compression in all cylinders and it was firing good. Then it started and died and now nothing. It was building pressure and figured it might have something logged in the exhaust and cut a hole in it right in front of the muffler, the muffler was stopped up but still no fire. So now I've changed plugs cap rotor points and still nothing.
By the way when it started it ran rough but figured out someone had crossed a few (3) plug wires and I also fixed that and still no fire.

I need Any help I can get please:angry9:

Did you try to run it with clean gas out of a can?

Are you saying it Won't fire off OR you have no spark ?

Are you trying to start it with the old varnish in the tanK? If the gas has been in there since 1983 and you have not dropped the tank and cleaned it out. I can all but guarantee your filter and pickup tube are plugged. If that is not the issue, have you checked the fuel pump?

We'll took all plugs out and started putting them in one at a time untill it was firing. Heck it even idled on its own
