440 starter difference

Will my old starter out of a 1969 318 with a 904 tranny fit in my 1975 440 with a 727 tranny, I forgot to try it before installing engine ?

I bolted up the 318 starter to the 440 with no problems................

 

[67 B-body]

I believe the part number from autoparts stores will be the same.

Thanks, had to pull engine could only bolt on starter or headers, going to bolt on starter before installing engine. hope it works!
