451 low deck budget build

I've had those babies in my hot little hands and will not run them, very low quality rod. Spend the bucks and get a H-beam.

Thanks IQ52. I have never seen those rods, but the price is tempting?
I was thinking the forgings may be OK, but so-so machining?

Yep. With the set I had, the sides on the big ends weren't parallel and the bolts wobbled around in the threads like a 7/16 in a 1/2 thread. The threads were spooky loose.

That's pretty bad. When I checked my stroker kit, I noticed the rod big ends were not honed very square, center a bit tighter than the outer edges.

And Molnar makes a 6.760 rod for a 2.200" Chevy journal with a big end width of 1.017" and they still fit the .990 pin 99495 Ross pistons.

Thanks this was what I was wondering if there was a rod in that size
