Hoping to get some experienced input. I'm rebuilding the 440 in my 1970 Charger R/T. 727 auto with 3.55 gears. Going with a 4.250 stroker build (508 @ 0.040), aluminum heads, 10:1, Edelbrock Performer intake, headers, 850 carb. I've pretty much decided I want to go the purple flat tappet cam route (COMP Cams Nostalgia Plus), but debating on the 484 vs 474. I have power brakes and want to make sure I leave enough vacuum so I'm guaranteed no brake issues. I really like the rowdiness of the 484, but don't want to bite off more that I can chew. I'll select a converter to best match whichever I choose. Anyone out there have experience running the .484 with power brakes on a stroked 440 B Body?

Cam spec details (hydraulic flat tappet):
Lift: .484
Duration: 239/246 @ 0.50
LSA: 108

I've ran both.
The 474 was in a 440 with approximately 8.8 compression and the power brakes were fine. I have one in a 383 in another car and the vacuum was too low. I thought it could be because there are fewer cubes? I don't know why.
The 484....I had one in a motorhome 440 with about 7.5 to 1 compression. It was in a truck. Brakes were fair but certainly not great. I ran a '509 in a stroked 440 and while it wasn't great either, it was okay. A vacuum booster bridged the gap to where it was adequate.

A .484 would be somewhat small in a 508 CI stroker.
I have one in a 383 with power brakes and it's fine.

If you do have a low vacuum problem you can always add a stand alone
vacuum pump from a Tesla or Ferd pickup. There are hundreds of them
out there and they're pretty cheap. Nowadays it's not a big problem.

Put in a stand alone pump. They have pretty quiet ones these days and the run time is short. I only hear it at start up for maybe 20 seconds

My old 1969 Hemi RR I had an old MP purple shaft 292/509 with power disc brakes with no issues.

I run a 292/541 in my red Charger with power brakes and A/C with a 10" 3400 converter. I did have to add a vacuum canister. I hid it under my battery tray.

The 108 lobe separation is going to leave you with low vacuum. If you're worried about the brakes, I would pick something with a lobe separation of 112 or higher
