I agree. You have to guard your car, and even then they can get damaged. A big dog jumped on the driver's door of our '64 Corvette. Luckily I was able to buff out the scratches. An old guy in a motorized wheelchair ran into the front fender of our '64 Belvedere. Luckily I was able to touch up the scratches on that one. A young kid was test driving a motor bike at Mopars on the Mississippi 2 years ago. He'd never ridden one before and lost control and ran the bike into our front fender and driver's door. Almost $2,000 in damages, which we ended up covering with our own insurance. I hope that's the last of our car show "surprises".
too high , i only pay for show that a good part of it goes to charity

I have a couple of friends that do the same. They also won't get an EZ tag for the toll roads but will just drive the access road and put up with all the traffic lights and burn more gas. One makes over 100k a year and is not married! We had one toll road that is about 22 miles long and traffic is very light and I'll gladly pay the 3 bucks to drive it instead of getting on I-45 which is packed most of the time. The rail head for new incoming cars is out on that road too and I can get a good look at what's out out there and even get a feel for the economy based on how full the yard is not to mention it's more scenic. You can't take your eyes off the road when running the non toll roads around here.Moparfest up here in Ontario charges $35, but that is for the two days. Also they have a give away car on Sun and another prize of $5000 on Sat plus door prizes all day long. Now the show is all non profit with the money going to local kids clubs as well as the sunshine foundation.
I know two guys that refuse to go because of the entry fee, both can afford it as they have a few cars *g*.
One of the guys drives down in his daily driver and parks with the spectators refusing to bring any of his mopars because "they should be paying me to bring my car"
Funny thing is you park in a field away from the show and then you are bussed over to the fairgrounds where you pay $10 bucks to get in. Now wait for it...this guy comes both days..... total cost $20 entry fee....and he lives about 1 1/2 hours away.....so I am guessing close to $15 bucks in gas both ways for the two days....now lets add that up.....ROTF

I don't mind 15 or 20 bucks to enter a show if it's a good local show. I'm not spending much more than that especially if I have to burn a lot of gas to go a long distance.I agree.
