$500- 68 charger

All done, for now. I'll get a hood this winter. I'm taking it to a local car show that's coming up soon, and you can call me a sissy but I'm not going to drive it anymore before then, so nothing breaks. All the guys in my car club have been bugging me for years about when I'd finish, so I'm going to surprise them at the show. Not even telling them I'm going. I'll go there early, cover it till they get there, then unveil it for them., ha.

Dang, that is one sexy car Kid. Just went back to page one to jog my memory of how it all started. After 7 years of rebuilding, I would have a very hard time not getting that thing out to stretch it legs. AWESOME job on every part of the restoration. I really am liking the red rump stripe with black, actually I am really liking the whole package . Beautiful car.

The car looks great. Congrats on such a beautiful build - I’ve always enjoyed following your steady and diligent approach to construction.

What a transformation! Looks stunning!! Your buddies will drop their jaws when they see it.

I went to the car show today and had a blast! All the guys in my club and all the spectators loved my car. Sorry I didn't get a single pic, to busy talking the whole day. But I'm sure I'll get some from buds later. Oh yea and I won $100., Now I can say the car makes me money! Also, I did another couple of rolling throttle romps today and kept my foot in it a little longer. It is really quick, the 4.56 gear is one reason, but the caltracs and the tires work good together also. It kinda feels like the rear of the car raises up from the caltracs. Even with this mystery motor which I'm still thinking is a stock smog motor/low hp, I bet it would have a good 60' time. I gotta get my driveshaft/yokes beefed up before any hard track launches. But next weekend is a car show/drag race combo where I may go just to let it stretch its legs a little.

Look forward to seeing some pics from your mates. Glad you had a blast and your car looks awesome. Well done DK

Went to another show today, and test & tune. Felt good going down a strip again after a 35 year break. The car launched nice but stumbled a bit, I think the float bowl/s are set too high and it's sloshing gas out the vent/s into the motor, flooding it momentarily. It also shifted to 2nd way to soon, gotta talk to my trans guy about that. Funny how my car snuck into every pic.

You might want to invest in the slosh tubes if your running a Holley.

Would a piece of rubber fuel line between the 2 tubes with a hole in the middle help? Think I've seen that done.

Went to another car show today, about 130 nice cars. Again I talked all day and took no pics. I'll find some later. The judges at today's show finally realized what they were looking at.. hehe

Did some adjusting on the carb and solved the stumbling problem. Made a test run in the local industrial park. Put it in drive and stomped it. It really felt good, motor revved up quick and smooth, trans shifted better, and when it went to 3rd I let off. Now I'm thinking that it was getting too much fuel, mostly from the accelerator pumps. What I did was move the pink plastic cam on the side of the carb to reduce the pump's shot, just on the rear. Also adjusted some length off the bolt that pushes the pump arm. Maybe not the best way to lean it a tad but it seemed to fix it. Also did a mod to my trailer incase I need to get under the car for something.
