I have a 62 413 I want to put back together, going to run the original 324 heads but gonna clean up the bowls and ports just a little bit, planning on buying a set of pistons from hughes, just flat top pistons and probably running a .020 steel head gasket depending on compression ratio I calculate up, I have this cam out of my 440 I took out cause my 440 is a low compression late model engine and it was just to much for it, but now I'm thinking about running it in my 413, what you guys think, trying to build my engine around my cam

I completely understand working with what you have.
Others with more experience will chime in.
Myself , if i was going to buy pistons I would get a set for the low compression 440 and do the head work to it also
( prob 452s) ?
With that cam and a decent gear should be a good starting point.
