62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

K.. recurved my dist so now i have 24-25* initial and 34* all in... which is much better than the 55* all in i had :) So.. i finally got to open the secondaries on the carb for the first time and that little 318 boogies :) Obviously not 440 power but enough to be fun for now. That street demon is a pretty nice carb.. just likes to work

Brakes still scary as hell though... also ordered a full power steering setup from bergman.. can't wait to get that on the car..

Just ordered the 15/16" aluminum master cyl from Cass.... hoping this fixes my brake issue. Once again doing the same job a second time, it's a tradition for me now :)

Shiny new steering box showed up.. pump/brackets haven't shipped yet... Hope i can sell the PST box and adapter locally... Another item being done a second time :)

soo.. i really don't wanna pull the header/starter since the header is actually not leaking... almost thinking it might be easier to pull the torsion bar since it hasn't been in very long.., then i think i can drop the steering box out the bottom?

That's my preferred method... Your headers may or may not agree, but it's pretty easy, doesn't cost anything... Try it..

Down the road when you need a replacement unit, get one for an F body.

The PO bought the swap stuff from the Doc when he did the conversion. This master is a 2 bolt but the car is using the adaptor so I just left it. It was leaking and I inquired from the Doc which unit to use but never heard back. So did some parts investigating using my past work profession and found the F body unit was the one. But on Rocks site, they did show a 4 bolt unit. Just need to do some measuring on the pushrod adjustment with either one you get and adjust from there.

yeah.. i think the one i got was for a a-body manual disc... i'm praying it's my problem.. really stumped so far on this

Check your pushrod adjustment. Not all of the backbores of the masters are the same where the rod engages. Even if its a "direct replacement". You can have too much slack all the way to too much stick out which applies pressure just sitting there.

my issue is that, i have great pedal feel, not spongy.. not too hard.. all 4 corners work but it's like the pads just don't bite, i could stand on it with 2 feet and not lock up a front or rear (disc/drum).. car was originally a manual drum car so i assume the rod pivot is in the right spot.. All new calipers/lines/prop valve.. basically every part is new. that's what really annoys me :) I coulda redone the stock drums for like 1/4 the cost and stopped way better so far:)

No biggy, will see when i get the new MC in... i went with the 7/8 one so it will be more pressure
