Calling all 62-65 aficionados, experts, fanatics, and anything else in between! LOL. Desperately seeking info on what clip and availability of said clip is used on the 62's for the beltline rear quarter moulding finish piece. I know it is a push in type due the size of the hole as opposed the screw and nut clips used in the trunk, etc. I have attached photos of the trim piece front and back, where it goes and the hole size, as well an old clip that I believe is in the same family but a different size. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you much and in advance,

Jeff

Not yet, was hoping to catch someone doing a resto currently or in the past that has more knowledge than I. Thank you for the reply and suggestion. Much appreciated.

If those guys don't have it then you will most likely have to make it. Hopefully you can get to the back side with the door panel off.

I believe on my 62 4 door parts car it was a flat piece with a threaded stud, iirc it stuck through on the back edge of the door, easy to unscrew.
Iirc my 2 door hardtop was the same, wider trim though.
Most of the trim the edges were threaded stud type, the rest where clips.
I had to make all of those types of trim clips.

Rust mark shows where the flat piece was inside the trim, but the other side looks more like a clip was there.

Thank you Matthon. Now even more confused! LOL. Surely somebody on B Bodies has ran into the correct clip along the way to completion of their restoration.

Just in case someone in the future needs to know this is the clip for the front quarter beltline trim closest to the door. the one you cant get to from inside the fender.

There are universal steel studded clips available. They are wider than the trim piece itself, and have 2 rounded ends, and rotate into the trim to grab it. An attached piece of spring wire snaps into the trim, holding the clip in place. If you go to swap meet, there is sometimes a vendor there selling these. There used to be a vendor called Mr.G's from Texas that sold stuff like this. Try an automotive supply that deals with paint shops.

Various 62 Dart clips.
The 4 on the left were in a bag labelled 'eyebrow trim' but iirc the clips with the foam on them were used for the side trim as well, or similar.

I'm still convinced the ends of the trim, as well as the curved pieces, were held on with flat stock and a threaded stud, as shown by the two pieces in the upper right, studs broken off.

I made new flat/stud 'clips' from scratch, and used the J&T fastener for the hood trim and the side trim.

Thank you everyone for the help thus far! Getting closer. Matthon great pics. I believe you are correct on the two on the bottom left they look like the ones used on the trim area circled in one of my photos above. As far as the two trim pieces on the upper right corner (stud broken off) mine actually got a screw in the spot where you say the stud is broken off. Behind the door and righ into this trim piece. This held it to the door. I think the only one you may be missing is the one I'm looking for!? LOL. And to further confuse things your first picture shows a clip on one side and a flat piece on the other like you stated!

Hopefully a few more experts out there that will share the knowledge. Part of the fun though eh?

Jeff

The clip in the bottom picture is what I was trying to describe. Thanks.
