'64 330 Street Hemi build

they look sooo much better 2059,

what are the tyres on the front? bias ply? are they tall 27-28"

awesome thread, love your work!

So, late last week I get the replacement master cyl. And the replacement torsion bar boot in the mail, and on the way down to Louisville with DW for a weekend wedding for one of the inlaw's, then after that a week long west coast swing for work (which is where i am now, setting in the airport); I get a call from Ft. Wayne Clutch and my driveshaft is ready. She says "who was that"? I tell her, she says, "how will you make it a whole week without the car?" I, of course, answer; "seriously? It's You I will miss, not the car.... Or the dog... Well maybe the car and the dog." So, short story, couple weeks until anything will be shakin again....

yesterday, picked up the driveshaft and installed, set the torsion bars. tonight installed the clutch bell crank (z-bar) and linkage.

dropped the heater box today. found that the heater valve was leaking not the core. bought a rebuild kit online. took about 45 min to remove, 45 min to disassemble and clean. little honked about the poor assy of the rebuild from the vendor and the fact that it leaked in the first place. anyway here are some shots of; bad seals, loose screws, before and after of the valve was disassembled.

A couple shots if the car. The Hemi is coming from Eddie haines in FL and the A-833 from Passon. And yes, I know the shot of "dandy" dick is a '65 Coronet, but it's still very cool...
I just happen to have a 1964 Race Hemi block for sale if anyone is interested.

Well that sucks to have to rebuild the rebuilt heater box. Like they say, If you want it done right...

Had a guest drop in for lunch last week. Helped him-self to a 2-1/2 pound bass, played around on the hill across the pond for about 30 minutes then headed on. From what I can tell he's a juvenile, about 1-1/2. We saw him last year but the coloring hadn't developed yet and we thought it was an American Eagle, Not a Bald Eagle. Pretty sure the nest is in the reserve about 10 miles south east of us. Pretty Awesome.

Was only going to run the initial break in for the trans and rear today (put 1.3 miles on the car and never left the shop) but got started and one thing lead to another. set the steering column, and the wheel. checked the brake lights, turn signals, parking lights and horns (nothin' like the old spartan hi/low horn combo). had a little trouble because the sockets needed to be grounded for everything to work correctly. figured that out over lunch, beer and a tuna sandwich. discovered the new brake light switch sticks (plastic POS) so I dug out the orig. switch, tested and installed it, all good.

couple simple shots. one of the gauges in the dark and the wheel. it's a 440 wheel, but i'm goin' with it for now, until i find a good 330 horn ring and center to use. spent the last three hours of the day mowing. first for the season and still very wet in the low areas.

Here's the "rebuild kit" a replacement seal. absolutely worth the twenty bucks. once reassembled, it held pressure and functioned perfectly. this "kit" will work for ANY Ranco H16 heater valve used from the early 50's to the early 70's. also took the car down the drive. first time out and nothin' crazy... though I gotta say it makes ya feel "ten feet tall and bullet proof"...

Nice R/T Benno!!! '64 Dodge LL-1 Dark Green Poly. Plymouth called it some sort of turquoise...

Be interesting to see your car when its back from paint. My Charger is LL1 also, think they changed the color a little over the years.
