Picked this up last weekend.Guy I bought it from in Carlisle Pa purchased it off this site back in 2012.Set up for 1/8th mile((runs 6.40 @105 mph)).I run Maple Grove Raceway in Reading Pa,1/4 mile so I will be making necessary changes over the winter to prepare for next season.I really like this website...a good group of people.Yes I sold the a body to buy this. The car came out of Iowa...If that person is still on here I would like to give him a shout out..He built a great car......putting it on the street also,,,and yes I am installing a max wedge scoop.Hope to run into some of you at Carlisle Nats and Maple Grove.....Rob

Looks like that 1/8 ET/MPH should put it around 10.2@129. Whats the combo?

Welcome back Rob! That looks like a fun ride!
Will make it a point to meet up at C@C in July. Quite a few on here love to go.

32" tall tire, Ford 9",Strange chunk,35 spline,5.14 gear(changing to 4.29)or less.Pro glide,1.82 first,5500 stall,440 .60 over,13-1 c.r.,solid roller (.600 lift with lots of duration)2000-7000rpm range according to card...iron heads with very nice port work, 2.18 intake,950cfm carb.I am into longevity......would rather not take it above 6300-6500 rpm for now...Motor was freshened last year...Just want to get down the 1/4 in one piece.Getting my son into racing and he will be cutting his teeth with this car.Has glass hood, deck, front bumper, race seats, lots of aluminum panels so its on a diet...

thanks Scott,,you did a very nice job on this build.car is holding up very well.Side trim is flawless. If you want to throw your 2 cents into what rear gear you would run for the 1/4 feel free. Also Don was not sure what rods are in motor...if you go to chryslers at carlisle i will buy you lunch....Rob..

Glad you like it. Rods are stock LY that have been bushed and dolled up. Would always make sure to magnaflux them every time you freshen it. JE pistons. I ran that gear in the 1/4. Went thru at 6800. That is a tall tire, so I wouldn't drop too much in the gear dept. A 4.56 would probably work good for both though. Car weighed 3080 lbs. without my fat butt in the seat. It was always a good consistent car that always hooked. That car was a race car since 68. It was extremely straight when I got it in 84. If you have anymore questions I'm glad to help. Just picked up a 64 Dodge 440 HT that is going to be my next project. Love that body style. Let me know if you get tired of it, I would take it back!!

Thanks for the details and your time...kind of cool knowing the history of a car all the way back.

Let us know how the changes you're planning work for you. I had guys come to me at the track and try to buy the trim off me because they said it was too nice to be on a race car. I politely told them no thanks. Again, good luck with the car.

I know the color on the the paint can says Honda red..do you happen to remember anything about what the color is.My body shop is going to be prepping the new scoop..they have a color match machine..but I thought I would ask.Do not want to paint the whole hood.My other half is tired of me talking about how great the trim is...I might try the car as is ..I have a friend running a low 10 sec cuda with the LY rods.Has 2 full seasons on them.Shifts at 6500 and runs it out the door at 6900-7000.I will be running very limited schedule due to my job...Try it a few times then make changes....just hold my breath the last 300 feet

What is on the can is probably what we used. It's been so long ago I can't say for sure. I would try it like it is. You might be happy with it like it is. I always wanted to do a big inch stroker with a good head on it with that car. Never got to it cause it just never gave me a reason to change. Bigger inches and a taller gear would be fun though. Have fun with it no matter what you do.

After decades of being a track car only..i had it on the street this past weekend...I have a reminder notice on dash((oilpan!))
