64 polara drag car

Thats a nice car you got ! Ron

Norwood, I think I recognize that car. You raced it at Eddyville a few times, correct?

Scott(Norwoodville speed shop) who built the car is from IOWA....I bought the car off the guy he sold it to in York Pa...I know it was raced in iowa...I am sure he will see this current posting and comment at some point.I had the car lettered up and asked his permission to use his shop on the car since he built it.....give it a little retro 60's race car look....

Yeah I didn't remember it being all lettered up so it was probably the same one. I was racing motorcycles at the time.

Car is looking cool. Love the scoop. Let us know how it goes at the track. I think you're going to enjoy it. If you don't, give me a call. I'll buy it back!!LOL

You have first shot at it Scott....I have a few friends with high end race cars$$((the ones that have that bottomless pit of money))...and they have been very complimentary on the job YOU did on the car...and the details you put in to it.....That scoop is a VFN..appears to be good quality...

few extra pics.fuel cell straps/battery hold down have been powder coated since picture was taken.

just put new rear tires on it..there is a Nostalgia race day at Maple Grove Raceway August 19,,taking car there to finally run it....then I am having rear gear changed .A friend runs Ford rears and has an assortment of gear sets so hopefully she will stay together for some data to determine perfect ratio..My job requires me to be on call every other week right now so it screws up any racing I would like to do..but it pays the bills. Also do you remember what gear oil you put in the rear?? Brand/weight...

I think it was 75-90 synthetic Castrol. Let us know how it goes.

Well Scott you were right on the money...glad I did not make any radical gear changes.Went through at 6800 rpm like you said it would...did not get to try the transbrake yet...footbraking first time run it went 10.62 @ 124.00,2nd run it went 10.58 @124.12. with a 1.49 60'.First round of eliminations fuel pressure dropped to 0 at 1/2 track so I backed off...came back to 3 pounds in shut off area so I am going to order a new pump and get back at it...cant wait to try the brake...for an old school iron headed 440 I was happy. For now I am going to leave gearing alone and over winter have a good set of rods put in it but leave it alone otherwise.

Glad everything went well. Should be a great car for you. Sounds like the improvements your planning are a good idea. Keep us posted on the rest of the season.
