64 Polara Gerst suspension unboxing

I know the feeling I have multiple cars in different stages and don't want to touch them till my kids are grown and I can build a large shop and finish them the way I want... Very nice. My brother has a 64 convertible in the shed behind my house right now. I actually built myself a shop about two years ago so I could finish a couple flips and have a place to work on my Polara. Have had to make a couple “bite the bullet” type decisions over the last couple years to make it happen. Like I said, my car isn’t gonna be perfect, but it’s gonna gonna be done and I’m gonna be able to take my family to grab ice cream, go to the races, etc. Makes the tough decisions worth it. I also think it will be a big deal for my father to see the car done.

Just one dumb question what will be done with the old shock tower ? Remove and put in a flat plate or just fill the wholes.

Nothing. The old shock tower stays as is. The brace you see simply slides up on the outside of it. On the B body you are only supposed to have to cut off the bump stop on the bottom of the frame rails, according to the instructions.

Thank you I'm really thinking about this front suspension looks great. But i think if was to do it would like remove inner shock towers and replace with flat metal. Gives a little more space.

Just received my Gerst front suspension for my 64. Very nice pieces and everything needed looks to be included. I got the upgraded Wilwoods and paid $4455 shipped to the door. You'll love it. I have one on my 74 dart project. I had mine fully installed in less than an hour, not counting alignment. Carl's a great guy too. I've been considering another kit for my 64 as well but funding may not allow that.
