I just bought a 64 Polara. It has a 383 2bbl and an auto trans. Looks like a Sure Grip rear but the owner can't tell me much other than it's the original engine, trans and rear end. Everything rebuilt but never started after rebuilding. Project got shelved. The VIN and fender tag are attached. What details can you tell from them. Thanks. VIN 6342111681

I'm thinking it was a 361 car? Judging by the 5 under A .

I think in U.S. cars, a 1964 Plymouth could get a 361 2- barrel, but a Dodge would have a 383 2-barrel.

Yes a 727. 0919 is the SPD Sept. 19 1963. 0112 is the rest of the SO number. 632 is Dodge polara 2dr htp. H4R is trim code. red bench seat interior. PP is paint code. red roof and body. A5 727 auto. F1 AM radio. H5 heater with defroster. M3 back up lights N8 windsheild washer. P2 outside left remote mirror. QR 05 383-2.

Would it be a 727 Torqueflite
I think '65 was the first year for 904's in the bigger bbody cars with a v8 and it was most likely mostly with the 273 engines at that.

318 Poly's all used a 727. So, that would be through 1966 in U.S., and 1967 in Canada. 273's usually had a 904.

Thank you for that.
